Psychiatrists often lead treatment teams, conducting psychiatric evaluations and managing complex mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia.
2. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are advanced practice registered nurses specializing in mental health care. They can prescribe medications, perform assessments, and provide therapy, often collaborating with psychiatric providers and other mental health team members. NPs play a key role in delivering accessible care, particularly in outpatient or telemedicine settings.
